Shopping for fall is one of my favorite times to shop–I love picking out transitional pieces that you can wear alone on warm fall days (of which we have many in Alabama) and add layers to on crisp, cool evenings.
The same can be said for decorating your home–most of the fall season in the South tends to be on the warm side so I don’t like to go overboard with the decor and prefer to just add touches of coziness to our home.
To find all of these special pieces, I headed to Parkway Place here in Huntsville for a full day of shopping–Louis and Judy in tow!
When you’re shopping with your kids, my strategy is always to buy them something first so they’re excited to be there with you! And then reward them with a treat if they are good little shoppers!
So to get Louis and Judy excited for fall shopping we headed to Build a Bear and Gymboree first. The kids already have bears from a previous visit to the mall but it was time we jazz up their wardrobe too!
After the bears were all decked out, we headed to Gymboree where the kids picked out some cute pieces to round out their own wardrobes!
Judy of course gravitated to the accessories and snagged a purse to match her little top along with this cat hat she modeled for us!
My little shoppers did a great job so we headed to Yolo Rolo next for a treat! Have any of you tried this? It tastes great and the kids love watching them spread the ice cream and roll it up with their favorite mix ins and toppings! We went with chocolate ice cream rolled with oreos and topped with m&ms–so good!
The perfect addition to a mug full of cocoa or tea during the fall is a seasonal candle and I am loving these marble wrapped ones from Yankee Candle! Went with autumn in the park, naturally.
Now to get myself ready for fall, I was on the hunt for some comfy pants that could be dressed up or down along with accessories to help me achieve the look.
I headed to Charming Charlie first where I scooped up this adorable Zodiac ring–I love the pave diamonds and the brushed gold. It’s subtle enough to wear daily but still a conversation starter!
Next was shoe shopping at Belk and Dillard’s where I scored a great clearance find in these gold silk tie flats at Dillard’s and then these new for this season, suede Nikes at Belk! Both of these pairs will help me transform the track pants I found at Aerie into two different looks for fall that I’ll be showing you soon!
Had a hard time picking which Nike color to get–don’t you hate it when that happens? Decided blush would go with more of what I already have but I have a feeling I will keep thinking about these baby blues ones!
After all this shopping it was time for a late lunch, and while I’m not gonna lie–the food court looked amaze–we decided to head over to Carrabba’s for a little day date and I am so glad we did! The service was incredible and the food was fantastic! Since it was getting late in the day, we decided on lighter options with Joe ordering the Caesar and Mama Mandola’s Sicilian Chicken Soup and me getting the lettuce wraps.
I can’t even tell you how much I loved those lettuce wraps! Such a unique take on the Asian inspired wraps and I loved the addition of ricotta salata–yum!
To cap off this delicious meal, we were surprised with the seasonal Cinnamon Apple Crostata and man do I wish there was a smellivison feature! It was so perfectly warm, cinnamony and comforting and I can’t wait to get another one later this fall!
We then walked off lunch by doing one more lap during which I picked up a few items I had been eyeing earlier, like this coloring book–gotta keep it away from Louis and Judy!
Didn’t pick up these shoes this time–but I’ll be dreaming of these too!
Walking back to the car after a day well shopped is a good feeling!
Had such a wonderful time shopping at Parkway Place–great stores filled with wonderfully helpful people to help you pick out all you need for home, family and yourself!
Thank you to Parkway Place for sponsoring this post. While I was compensated for my time, all opinions are my own.
