Good food can really heal your soul. We’ve had a rough couple of weeks round here with back to back viruses, school stresses and more of those kind of things.
Lucky for us, the team at Metro Diner reached out to me to see if we’d like to try some new items on their menu. Uhm YES.
We have two Metro Diners in our area (lucky us!) and decided to go to the Madison one this past Monday–it was not nearly as busy as it is on the weekend so I really enjoyed that! Plus I could take lots of pictures without feeling like a goob!
It’s also nice to take Louis and Judy to a place that is kid friendly without being kid oriented–know what I mean? The kids menu offers a great variety (breakfast all day!) and bonus points for the activity page–more than just one picture to color!
The temperatures finally dipped a smidge today so I felt more than ready to indulge in some comfort food–Metro Diner came in clutch with the offerings this evening!
Both Louis and Judy were feeling the breakfast menu whereas Joe and I went for the comforting diner fare. But before we got to all that goodness, we had the new cheesy tots which were some sort of tater tot/corn fritter hybrid from the gods. SO. GOOD.
We had the best service and barely had to wait a minute before dinner came out hot and delicious!
Yes she’s eating pancakes with her hands, no don’t ask.
As much as the kids enjoyed their meals, I think Joe and I loved ours even more! Only thing I wished I’d done is ask for no mushrooms in mine (yuck)–otherwise these meals were the perfect way to cure a case of the Mondays!
We couldn’t finish all this, despite our best efforts, but the excellent staff at Metro packed everything up for us and sent us on our way with full bellies and smiling faces–we’ll definitely be back!
