This was one of the shortest weekends EVER. Joe’s contract allows him to have an alternate work schedule, meaning he gets to take every other Friday off but sadly it was not this week. Then I worked on Saturday, which basically made our weekend feel like it was one day. Gah! Oh well, we just crammed as much family time in as we could.
Hope you all had a beautiful weekend! We really did…went by quickly as they always do, but we got a lot done and had a lot of fun too 🙂
We started Friday off by hitting up the pool after the gym…I love that we have a pool in the neighborhood which means I get to enjoy it but don’t have to maintain it lol
Saturday morning we were up bright and early to hit up NASA in the park. It was really awesome! I kind of expected it to be lame honestly but it was really neat with food trucks, live music and lots of kid friendly exhibits.
This striped maxi dress was perfect for such a hot day! I was seriously sweating my face off but this dress is really light so it helped!
Despite the heat though, the kids had a great time!
Louis loved the rock climbing wall–he didn’t go very high but he was so proud of himself!
We finished our visit by feeding the ducks and meeting a space ranger–Louis was thrilled I promise!
Sunday we celebrated two great dads in our lives, Joe and my dad right down the street 🙂 After a delicious brunch (thanks mom!!) the kids napped at my parents while Joe and I ran to Home Depot and Target. Believe it or not, Joe said it was a perfect Father’s Day…he’s a keeper 🙂
Mascara and coffee are going to be essential to getting me through this day! Who are we kidding?? WEEK. Here’s hoping it’s a good one!

The Little White Dress. Summer’s answer to the LBD. Perfect for graduations and all the festivities that come with spring and summer!
I was lucky enough to wear this GORGEOUS white dress for the Anthropologie Spring Show and it is so perfect! Lined nicely which is so important when you’re picking out a white dress and super flattering. I went down a size from my usual which I think helps the fringe lay better.
It’s a little pricey so I’ve linked up some other options below.
I am totally loving the one shoulder swimsuit for this summer! I think it’s flattering (who hates their shoulders??) and totally mom friendly. I absolutely love navy with tan so this is a no brainer combination to me.
Since swimwear and espadrilles tends to need replacing every year, I see no reason to spend a fortune on these items so I found these dupes and can speak firsthand that the quality of both the Old Navy swimsuit and GAP shoes are on point!

I just picked these awesome glasses up at LOFT the other day and have worn them everyday since! LOFT glasses seem to be the only ones that fit my face well so I have racked up quite a few. Plus, I have never paid more than $15 for a pair and that can’t be beat!
To offset such a bold glasses choice, I went with a pretty simple outfit and color pallet. Can’t go wrong with red, white and blue. The bandana is such a fun way to add sophistication to a simple outfit, not to mention the fact that it kept my neck warm on a chilly Saturday downtown.
For a morning of walking around, I went with my trusty Old Navy sneakers which now have added support and cushion in them! I love these so much and they are such a great price that I buy a new pair every six months or so to keep them looking fresh!
My sleeveless trench is actually a DIY and basically my greatest achievement (other than my kids. duh). It’s an Old Navy trench from a few seasons ago that I seem ripped the sleeves off of and my mom hemmed. Thanks mom! I get so much more use out of this coat this way and think it is perfect for spring, fall and honestly winter in Alabama.

I always think the most quintessential J.Crew look you can wear is when you mix something more Uptown (i.e. this skirt) with something Downtown (i.e. these sneakers and jacket).
I have had this jacket for a while and just love it…perfect fit and color, plus you can’t beat the price! These sneakers were from the Superga collection at Target but I also wear these Old Navy ones a lot.
I also feel that mixing formal pieces with casual items is more doable for real life and definitely more mom friendly!

Sweater- old Banana Republic but here is a good dupe
Our winter weather has been all over the place here in Alabama, but when it’s been consistently cold for a while and I’m tired of wearing boots, I reach for high tops!

So last weekend we went downtown to the Von Braun Center with the kids, on what was supposed to be a rainy day in Huntsville. As you can see from these pictures, this was not the case lol…
At least it started to look a bit dreary when we were leaving!
With my husband’s recent new job came the most awesome perk of all…having every other Friday off! So this past Friday we headed into old town Madison, Al and did a little wondering and lunching.
It was another mild day so I got to wear this adorable bell sleeve sweater I just snagged from the Who What Wear collection at Target. It’s not online yet but this one is and it is on clearance! They are still rolling out the spring line so definitely check your local stores.
My “cool mom” jeans are an awesome pair of distressed high rise rockstars from Old Navy and I just really love the fit and color!
And since Judy always makes me smile, here is a pic of her cheesin with a piece of cheese 🙂
